Market Your Website in 5 Ways
Market Your Website in 5 Ways

After you’ve developed your online presence by building a website, you will need to market that website to start bringing in revenue. Here are 5 ways to get that done.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • An open mind.
  1. Step 1

Natural Search & Paid Search Engine Listings

    What is natural search?
Natural search is when someone uses a search engine such as Google or Yahoo to find what they are looking for.

For instance, if I have a website that sells cheese cakes in Atlanta, Georgia and I want people to find my business, I would SEO (Search Engine Optimize) my website for that specific keyword phrase. Now when a consumer does a search for cheese cake in the Atlanta area, my website will appear in the search listings. You can also pay for a search listing but it will not appear in the natural search but will appear on the right hand side.

    Social Networking

Social networking has been the thing to do lately. It seems that everyone is doing the social networking thing and you should to.

What no one is telling you however is that it’s not as easy as it may seem to make a sale.

The key is to get to know people, as much as you can anyway because it is the internet.

Your next step is to provide quality information to your internet network and build trust by showing you are a real legitimate person and business.

Then you can effectively plug in a few ads here and there that you feel your network may be interested in. For example, a Fall 25% off sale on your merchandise that you sell on your website.

  3. Step 3

    Ad Exchange

Ad exchange has been around for a long time and it doesn’t have to go away.
You can use ad exchange to your advantage absolutely free!
Find someone who has a good audience that is willing to exchange pop-under or pop-up ads with you. When someone visits their site or yours, both of your ads will appear either as a pop-up or a pop-under on the other person’s website.
Be sure your websites are relating to each other and not directly competing.

  4. Step 4

    YouTube

    The age of Video Marketing!
Please don’t hesitate to use this type of marketing because right now it is the most effective. It is more enjoyable, addicting and easier to simply watch a video about something than to read about it. So people are flocking to these videos to find out how to do something.

So it’s simple, Sign-up for a free YouTube account and create videos about things you know how to do. Post those videos on your YouTube account. Always link those videos back to your site because it gives you more hits to your website.

Need a video editing software? Use your Operating System’s free Movie Maker!

  5. Step 5

    Craigslist

This is a great place to post local ads. There are many local ad sites out there but no one uses them to find anything. So Craigslist is your way to go. It’s simple and fast. Post a text or image ad and start getting hits to your website. The key with Craigslist is to create an enticing title for your ad. One that screams click me!
