double-click this arrowIf you want to text with all capitol letters, simply double click the Up arrow left of the “Z”. You will see it stays lit up, also the caps automatically come on after you end your sentence with a period, by hitting the space-bar twice.

Music can be controlled while you are surfing the net, or using other applications by double clicking the “Home” button, this brings up controls for the music without leaving the app you are on, or unlocking the Home screen.

Another little hidden extra; when you type an address in Safari, if you hold the .com key down for a second, you get a variety of domains to choose from, like: .net, .org., etc. This is in both the 3G, and 3GS.

If you are typing something, or using the cut, copy, or paste features, you can shake the phone to undo the typing, and you shake it again, to Redo your typing. You will get a pop up that shows; redo, undo or cancel typing

You can take a screen shot of your phone by pressing down the sleep/wake button, and home button at the same time. If it is successful, the screen should flash, and you will hear the phone click like when you’re taking a picture.

Three new buttons appear in podcasts, listening to audiobooks. They are 1) Email, to send a link, or reply to what you are doing. 2) Skip back- go back 30 seconds. 3) Playback Speed, this will not work with videos.
7) The 3GS has other new features that the original 3G doesn’t have. Under Setting Usage, you can add a battery life percentage indicator to the status bar. There are apps similar to this you can download from Itunes Store , and some are free as well. The 3GS model has Improved the voice Control settings, so you can expand names, instead of Joe, you can have Joe Q Public, it understands much more detailed voice settings.
