Instructions

    • 1

Disassemble the equipment completely. It will make the shipping process easier when boxing the equipment.

    • 2

Depending on what kind of home gym equipment you have, you might need several boxes in different sizes. Try to put each piece of equipment in its own box. For instance, your workout bench and free weights should be in different boxes.

    • 3

Fill the extra space in the boxes with bubble wrap, newspaper or other padding. This will protect the equipment against damage when it's shipped.

    • 4

Tape the boxes and attach shipping labels with the address of the recipient. If you're moving, your new address should be on the label.

    • 5

Contact a shipping company to pick up your packages. UPS and FedEx are the two biggest shipping companies. Go to Fedex.com and Ups.com to compare costs. The costs will depend on the weights and dimensions of your boxes, so weigh and measure all boxes to compare costs.

Tips & Warnings

  • To protect your equipment against damage, don't try to squeeze it into the boxes. If you find yourself forcing equipment into a box, you should look for a bigger box.

  • When putting equipment into the boxes, make sure you use proper lifting technique. Lift with your legs, not your back, and bend your knees instead of your back to pick up a package.
