Instructions

    • 1

Spray your hands lightly with a cooking oil spray. The vegetable oil helps neutralize any heat that comes in contact with your skin.

    • 2

Put on a pair of latex surgical gloves. This barrier will protect you from the capsaicin for half an hour. If it takes longer to cut the peppers, put on a pair of fresh gloves.

    • 3

Grab the chili and use a knife to cut off the top. Rotate the pepper and cut off the bottom. Cut down the middle of the body to make two pieces.

    • 4

Hold one chili piece and carefully slide the knife along the bottom of the pepper between the ribs and outer chili body to remove the seeds and veins. If you like spicy food, leave a few seeds in. Repeat this process on the other pepper piece.

Cut up the deveined chili body. Remove your gloves and wash your hands with soap.
