Instructions

    • 1

Vacuum the rug thoroughly to remove dust and dirt. This also includes flipping the rug over, and vacuuming the underside of the rug.

    • 2

Clean the rug professionally if possible.

    • 3

Spread an old sheet on the floor, and center the rug on top of the sheet. Use 2 sheets if needed to ensure at least 2 feet of border around the rug.

    • 4

Roll the rug and the sheet into one roll.

    • 5

Twist the leftover sheet at each end of the roll, and secure with a tie.

    • 6

Tie the rug at two or three places with rope. The length of the rug will determine how many ties you will need. A long rug will need an extra tie.

    • 7

Place the rug roll inside a plastic bag. You can purchase plastic bags from moving supply stores.

    • 8

Store the rug on a shelf in a room with low humidity.
