Many new parents don't exactly have the means to provide their new baby with expensive toys and such to keep them entertained. Thankfully, there is a cheap and effective way to give the baby some entertainment while in the crib.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paper
  • Scissors
  • Wire cutters
  • Hanger
  • Glue
  • Ceiling Hook
  • String
  • Brightly colored construction paper
  1. Step 1

Draw different animals on the construction paper. You want to make sure the paper is brightly colored to stimulate the baby's eyes and brain. Be creative with pink ducks and green rabbits instead of the usual colors associated with animals.

  2. Step 2

Cut your hanger. Unravel your hanger and then cut it in half with the wire cutters. Fold the two halves of the hanger and cut them in half also. You are going to use two pieces of hanger.

  3. Step 3

Use the scissors to cut out the animals. After that, put holes at the highest point of the animals' figures. This will give you a place to put string later.

  4. Step 4

Put the hook into the ceiling. Most ceiling hooks will have a screw end that will turn easily into the ceiling.

  5. Step 5

Tie everything together. You'll want to measure out some string so as to keep the paper out of reach of the infant. Putting it about six inches out of reach will be good enough. Tie one end of your string to the ceiling hook. You should put the middle of each piece of hanger together then wrap the two pieces with string. The two pieces of hanger placed together should look like a plus sign. You'll want to make sure they are secure and not moving. Then slide new pieces of string into the holes you put into the animals and attach the other ends to the ends of the hangers.

  6. Step 6

Put your baby under the mobile and watch as he is in awe of your creative expression.
