How to Make a Square Cupcake Display
Most store-bought cupcake stands consist of round tiers used to display your cupcakes. You can make your own square cupcake display by using cake dummies and other materials available in cake decorating shops and some craft stores. Cake dummies are thick plastic-foam pieces used to create fake cakes for decorating practice or display purposes. If you have difficulty locating cake dummies, you can find them on several Internet cake supply websites. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need

1
Prepare the cake dummies. Both dummies need to be 4 inches thick, so if you can only find 2-inch-thick dummies, you will need to glue two of the dummies together with craft glue and allow them to dry.
-
2
Wrap ribbon around each dummy to cover the plastic foam completely. Push straight pins through the ribbon and into the cake dummy at the starting and ending points of the ribbon to hold it in place.

3
Trace each square cake board onto a piece of gift wrap. Cut the shapes out of the gift wrap and glue them to the top of each cake board using a glue stick. Smooth the paper down with your hands to remove any bubbles underneath the paper.

4
Use the glue stick to attach a piece of ribbon to the edge of each cake board. Insert straight pins at each corner of the cake board to secure the ribbon in place.
-
5
Glue the 6-inch-diameter cake dummy to the center of the 12-inch cake board with craft glue. Apply glue to the top of the cake dummy and center the 10-inch cake board on top of it. Press down firmly on the center of the cake board and allow the glue to dry.

6
Glue the 5-inch-diameter cake dummy to the top of the 10-inch cake board. Glue the 8-inch cake board to the top of the square cupcake stand and allow the glue to dry completely before you attempt to place cupcakes on the stand.
