How To Clean Lawn Chair Cushions
Lawn chair cushions make sitting on outdoor furniture quite comfortable on warm summer days or cool summer nights. Regular cleaning and care of these cushions can help them last for years. The process is quite simple, using typical household items. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Whisk broom
- Mild liquid dish soap (not dishwasher soap, as this can bleach fabrics or remove protective coatings)
- Water
- Bucket
- Sponge
- Scrub brush (soft bristles)
Instructions

1
Remove the cushions from the lawn furniture and lay them on the grass. Use a whisk broom to remove loose dirt and debris from the edges and corners of cushions.
-
2
Fill a bucket with warm water and several squirts of mild liquid dish soap. Dip a sponge into the soap and water, rinse it out and wipe down the cushions.
-
-
3
Dip the sponge yet again and only partially ring it out. Blot any areas where staining has occurred. This will soak the cushions in some places, but that won't harm them. Allow the solution to remain on the cushions for about half an hour.

4
Dip the scrub brush into the soap and water and go over the entire cushion yet again; paying special attention to those areas you were treating for stains.
Empty and rinse your bucket and fill it up with cool, clean water. Repeat the entire sponging process from Step 2. This will help to wipe away any soapy residue from the cushions.

Leave the cushions on the grass in the sun. Turn them over after a couple of hours to allow for both sides to dry thoroughly.
