Instructions

    • 1

Use the pool test kit to check the water chemical levels. Submerge the testing tube in the water, and fill to the line indicated on the test tube. Add the required drops to each tube to check the pH and chlorine. Shake up and look at the color chart on the tube to see if you need to add pH reducer and/or chlorine.

    • 2

Add the pH reducer according to the directions on the package in relation to the pool size. Sprinkle the pH reducer around the edge of the pool, starting in the middle and walking towards the deep end. Keep going until all the pH reducer is added.

    • 3

Use the chlorine to raise the level of chlorine in the pool water. Follow the directions as to how much chlorine to add for your pool size. Pour the chlorine around the edge of the pool, starting in the middle and walking into and around the deep end of the pool.

    • 4

Turn on the pool filter at the pump to get the water to circulate and filter out contaminates as the chemicals start to work.

    • 5

Brush down the sides of the pool and the steps with the pool brush. Vacuum the pool to remove any algae on the bottom of the pool floor with the pool vacuum head.

    • 6

Retest the water 12 hours later to make sure that the chemicals are correct, and turn the pool pump filter back to automatic. Adjust chemicals if needed with the pH reducer or chlorine.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the pH is too low after you add the chemicals and run the pool filter, you may need to add pH plus to stabilize the water.

  • Never pour the pH reducer and chlorine in the pool in one spot. It must be spread out in the pool.
