How to Safely Clean a LCD Flat Screen TV Screen or Computer Monitor

If you have recently purchased an LCD television set or computer monitor for your home, make sure you know how to properly clean it to prevent causing irreparable damage. With the proper care, you can enjoy your LCD screen for years to come.

Things You'll Need

• 2 lint-free cloths (such as microfiber cloths)
• Empty spray bottle
• Distilled water
• Rubbing alcohol

Instructions

1. Turn off your LCD screen and observe it closely for any fingerprints, smudges or areas that need attention.

2. Use gentle pressure and a soft, lint-free cloth, such as a microfiber cloth, to remove any dust or debris from the LCD screen.

3. Mix a solution of 1 part distilled water with 1 part rubbing alcohol in a clean spray bottle.

4. Moisten a soft, lint-free cloth with the water/alcohol solution.

5. Wipe the LCD screen with the moistened cloth using a circular motion and very gentle pressure.

6. Use a dry, clean lint-free cloth to remove any excess water/alcohol solution.

7. Allow the LCD screen to dry completely before turning it back on.

Tips & Warnings

• Do not spray the solution directly onto the LCD screen.

• Do not use regular tap water to clean your LCD screen.

• Do not use any cleaning solutions except those specifically made to clean LCD screens.
