      Take a plastic spoon and scoop the poop off of the carpet. Place the poop in a plastic bag. Continue this step until you can't possible scoop any more poop with the spoon. By using a spoon you are actually getting the poop up without rubbing it deeper into the carpet.

      Take a wet paper towel and soak up as much poop as possible. Gently rub the water into the carpet.

      Take a dry paper towel and pat the soiled area, sopping up the dirty water from the carpet.

      Spray the carpet with carpet cleaner and let it sit on the soiled area for several minutes.
