Pot Roast in a Crock Pot

Most of the meat that you use for a pot roast is tough if cooked on a grill or in the oven. You can either let the meat soak in tenderizer over night or you can cook it to perfection in a crock pot.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pot Roast such as Beef Roast Top Round Choice Boneless
  • 4 Potatoes
  • 3 Peppers
  • 8 oz. Mushrooms
  • 2 cloves of Garlic
  • 2 Cans Crushed Tomatoes
  1. Step 1

Put the roast into the crockpot with two cans of crushed tomatoes. If you are starting first thing in the morning, put the crock pot on low. If you have less time, but at least 8 hours, put the crock pot on high.

  2. Step 2

Cut the peppers into bite sized pieces and add them into the crock pot. Slice the mushrooms and add them into the crock pot. mince two cloves of garlic and add the garlic to the crock pot. Cut the potatoes into chunks and add them imto the crock pot.

  3. Step 3

Let the crock pot cook all day on low or at least eight hours on high. Attempt to put a fork into the meat and lift it up. When the meat falls apart rather than coming up with the fork, the roast is done. If you leave it in long enough you will be able to cut the meat with a spoon.

Tips & Warnings
  • The roast is done when you cannot lift the meat up with a fork. It is best when the meat can be cut with a spoon.
