Make Your Own Decorative Window Frosting

Decorative window frosting is a fun craft for the holidays. Kids love to paint their fake snow onto the windows and create a beautiful winter scene. Adults will love to show their creative side too. Decorative window frosting can also be used for privacy. If you have a window that you don't want anybody to look in to, frost it over. The frosting is not permanent and is easily removable. You can buy decorative window frosting in stores, but why should you when it is so easy and inexpensive to make your own.

Instructions

    • 1

Empty the contents of a bottle or can of lite beer into a glass bowl.

    • 2

Add ¼ of a cup of Epsom salts.

    • 3

Allow the Epsom salts to completely dissolve in the lite beer. Use a small artists brush to paint small detailed pictures or a large wide brush to paint the entire window for privacy. You can also use a stencil and create an entire scene.

    • 4

To remove the decorative window frosting, spray the glass with a 50-50 solution of white vinegar and water then wipe with newspaper. You can also use your favorite window cleaner. Follow with a soft cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol to take away any dull streaks.
