Instructions

    • 1

Stand the two glasses in the sink or basin and fill the sink with lukewarm water until the water level reaches just below the rim of the outer glass.

    • 2

Cool a cup full of water with ice. Meanwhile, allow the glasses to stand in the water for a couple minutes.

    • 3

Pour the cup of iced water into the inner glass until it reaches just below the rim.

    • 4

Allow the glasses to sit for another couple minutes.

    • 5

Remove the glasses and empty the inner glass.

    • 6

Pull the glasses apart. The difference in temperature will cause the top glass to contract, making it easier to separate the two.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the ice method doesn't work, try once more, but put the bottom glass in a sink full of hot water. Do not use boiling water, which could cause the glass to shatter.

  • You may want to wear gloves to protect your hands in case one of the glasses breaks.
