1
Clean the area of the shower where the soap dish will be installed with bathroom cleaner and a damp cloth. Wipe the area with a dry towel to remove any remaining water after cleaning.
-
2
Squeeze a 1/8-inch thick line of adhesive onto the back of the soap dish. Some soap dishes may have pressure-sensitive tape already applied for shower installation. These dishes still require adhesive in order to adhere firmly to the shower, but you should keep the adhesive one inch away from the tape.

3
Remove the backing from the pre-applied tape if necessary. Press the soap dish firmly onto the shower in the desired location.
-
4
Apply a clear-drying caulk around the edges of the soap dish to prevent water from entering the space between the soap dish and the shower. You will not be able to clean this area, and trapped water could cause mildew.
-
5
Cut a board to the appropriate length and place it underneath the soap dish to support the dish and prevent it from sliding down the shower wall while the construction adhesive dries.
