How to Configure a 3D Sound X-Fi Control Panel

The Creative Sound Blaster X-FI expansion card is meant for high-end sound applications, such as computer games or watching movies through a surround sound speaker system. Because the X-FI sound card can be used for such a wide variety of applications, it includes a control panel for tweaking several different audio options. Before using your X-FI card to listen to any audio, configure the control panel correctly for optimum sound performance.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are playing a game with many loud sound effects such as explosions or firing bullets you may want to change the crystalizer options. Click the "24-bit Crystalizer" button and drag the slider bar to the "maximum" setting. Listen to the sound on the game and then return to the crystalizer slider and slowly drag it back towards "minimum" until the sound is the most clear.
