How to Clean Water Spots on Tile
Water spots distract from the aesthetic appeal of decorative and functional tile. Whether you have tile flooring or a tile back splash, removing water spots present a bit of a challenge. Things You'll Need
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Flour
- Water
- Sponge
- Liquid soap
- Cotton cloth
- Plastic spatula
- Plastic film
- Tape

Blot the stained area with a damp cotton cloth and a dab of liquid soap.

Mix a poultice of 2 tbls. of flour and 1 tbls. of hydrogen peroxide in a small plastic container.

Apply the poultice to the stained tile with your fingers. You may want to wear protective gloves to prevent white spots on your fingers.There should be a 1/4-inch coating of the poultice above the stained tile.

Place a piece of plastic film over the poultice and secure it with tape.

Allow the poultice to set on the stain until it is dry. Peel a part of the plastic away from the tile to check the dryness. This can take between 12 and 24 hours.

Remove the tape and plastic from the tile. Use a plastic spatula to gently scrape away the dried poultice then wash the area with a damp sponge.
