Instructions

    • 1

Clean liner around the damaged area with a cloth to remove any dirt and debris that might create an ineffective patch bond.

    • 2

Cut out a circular patch from the patch material included in the kit. The patch should cover at least 1/4 inch over the edges of the hole.

    • 3

Squeeze patching adhesive into the center of the patch. You should use enough adhesive to cover the entire patch, yet not so much that it drips off the patch.

    • 4

Fold the patch onto itself so that the adhesive is inside the fold.

    • 5

Allow the folded patch to sit for five to 10 minutes so that the adhesive can cure.

    • 6

Place the patch into the water, but leave it folded until you are near the damaged area.

    • 7

Unfold the patch and adhere to the damaged surface immediately.

    • 8

Smooth the patch to the surface of the pool liner. Start from the center of the patch and work your way to the edges to remove any air bubbles.

    • 9

Re-smooth the patch after allowing it to sit for 10 to 15 minutes.

Tips & Warnings

  • Read all instructions on the patching kit before starting the repair job.

  • Patching kits can be purchased at pool supply stores, hardware stores, home supply stores or online.

  • Be sure the patch does not have any squared edges. This could cause it to peel off the pool liner surface more easily.
