Tips & Warnings
The oven cleaner method should be used as a last resort or for very heavy scorching. It should only be done outside or in a well-ventilated area; the fumes can irritate your nose, mouth and throat.
When scrubbing, always use a plastic kitchen scrubby. Steel wool or a Scotch-Brite-type pad will scratch the surface of the dish.
Scorched foods are easier to remove if you wash the dish as soon as possible.
While non-abrasive cleaners are recommended for the normal cleaning process of CorningWare, it takes an abrasive cleaner to remove scorching from the surface of the dish.
