How to Make Tea Bag Decorations for a Tea Party
Tea parties are popular with females, young and old. You can easily make decorations that look like tea bags with some simple items from the craft store. These tea bag decorations can be used as place markers at the table, as favors for guests or just to place around the tables in decorated baskets. Things You'll Need
- Off-white tulle (8 by 12 inches for each bag)
- Loose tea (about 2 tbsp. for each bag)
- Stapler
- Glue gun
- Ecru crochet thread (12 inches for each bag)
- Off-white card stock (4-by-2-inch piece for each bag)
- Markers and colored pencils
- Scissors

Cut an 8-by-12-inch section from the tulle for each tea bag that you plan to make.

Fold the long edges in toward each other, overlapping about 1/4 inch and glue together with the hot glue gun.

Fold the short sides together so they are touching.

Shake about 1 tbsp of loose tea into the opening on each side of the tea bag.

Fold the edges over each other twice.

Staple the folded edge three times. In the middle staple, include the crochet thread string so that it is secured too.

Fold the 4-by-2-inch card stock in half width-wise and staple it to the other end of the crochet thread for the tea bag tag.

Use the markers and colored pencils to decorate the tag, including any personalization.

If the tea bags are being used for a children's party, prepare the bags ahead of time and provide the markers and pencils for the children to decorate their own tea bag.
