How to Create Your Own Zelda Character
A journey to the land of Hyrule is more than just slashing enemies with your Master Sword. The world created for the Legend of Zelda games features different creatures who fall on the sides of good and evil. For those looking to expand on the legends that exist in Hyrule, you can create your own character to use in stories, other games or anywhere that a new character can exist. When creating your character, you can design both the backstory and visual look, then translate this character into any medium you wish.

1
Decide where you are going to use this character. This will set immediate limits on what sort of character you can create. If you are going to use this character as part of another game such as an MMO (massively multiplayer online game) or a live-action role playing game, check to see the rules about character creation.
-
2
Choose the race for your character. The land of Hyrule is home to nearly a dozen different groups from the eternally young Kokiri to the Hylians, with pointed ears and human features, to the Zora who resemble fish-human hybrids.

3
Determine if your character will be fighting for the forces of light with Link and Zelda or if he will ally himself with Ganondorf in an effort to take control of the Triforce. This alignment can be used regardless of where you are creating this character.
-
4
Choose the specialties of your character. If you're choosing to base a character off of Link, make him a swordsman with access to magic. A character based off of Princess Zelda would strictly use magic. A Gerudo character should be built around strength.
-
5
Sketch out your character. This will allow you to visualize how your character will look and what sort of clothing she will wear. Use pictures of existing Zelda characters for inspiration and to keep within the style of the game.
-
6
Name your character. You can choose any name for your creation or base a name off of existing characters. For example, if you've chosen to create a member of the Gerudo race, then combine the names of its two famous members, Ganondorf and Nabooru, into Ganooru or Ruondorf.
-
7
Insert your character into the world you have chosen. If you're using your Zelda character in a live action RPG then consider recruiting friends who will create the same type of character for your games. For those who want to insert their Zelda creation into stories or comics, then create additional characters or have your character interact with established members of the Zelda world.

Tips & Warnings
Fans of a specific game in the Legend of Zelda series can base their creation off the one particular game's storyline. Choose to have your character going off on his own adventure or being the mastermind behind the evil plot that Link must foil.
