Instructions

Press the window scarf using a steam iron on the appropriate setting for the type of fabric used in making the scarf.

    • 2

Thread the scarf over the curtain rod a few times, leaving the ends hanging down evenly from both ends of the curtain rod. This is just one way to drape a window scarf over a rod.

You may also anchor tie backs to both sides of the top of a window casing. Most attach quite simply with a screwdriver or even by hand when a hole has been started with a drill. Loop each end of the window scarf around the tie backs so that each end hangs evenly on each side. Position the remainder of the scarf so it drapes loosely over the curtain rod.

Or pin the center of the scarf to the center of the rod, having folded the scarf in half lengthwise to find the center. Pin the scarf from behind. Drape the ends of the scarf over the edges of the rod on either end, or wrap them around tie backs.
