Starting in a corner so that you can work your way out, spray a liberal amount of ammonia-based window cleaner on a 2-foot by 2-foot section of your wood floor. Let it sit for two minutes. Put on rubber gloves, and scrub the section as hard as you can with paper towels. Discard the paper towels. Spray the section again, and let it sit for one minute. Scrub it as hard as you can with paper towels. Discard the paper towels.

Spray the section again, and immediately buff as hard as you can in a circular motion with a polishing cloth. You can purchase polishing cloths from any automotive supply company or the auto cleaning section of your local superstore. Repeat this step until the polishing cloth comes away clean, and you can no longer feel any Orange Glo on the section.

Continue working in 2-foot by 2-foot sections until you have removed all of the Orange Glo.

    • 5

Mop your floors with a gentle wood floor cleaner to remove any traces of the ammonia-based window cleaner so that it doesn't dry out the finish of your floor.

Tips & Warnings

  • It is important to keep using fresh paper towels and polishing cloths so that you do not spread the Orange Glo you have already removed across your floor.

  • Do not attempt to use a buffing machine to remove the Orange Glo. It may save time, but unless you are a professional floor refinisher, you can do permanent damage to your floors.
