How to Create a Free Gift Certificate

Instead of wasting money on silly material gifts that are thrown by the wayside, give your family and friends gift certificates that they can redeem for things they really need and want. Consider making certificates for free babysitting, a favorite meal catered by you or even a house cleaning session. You can easily make your own gift certificates for free using your home computer.

Things You'll Need

• Microsoft Works software
• Printer
• Paper or card stock

Instructions

1. Open Microsoft Works Task Launcher and select "Templates". Choose "Cards & Crafts" from the menu on the left side of the page and then select "Certificates". Double click the gift certificate template you want to use to open it.

2. Alter the text anyway you like by double clicking on the word(s). Change the style and size of the font by going to "Format" and selecting "Font".

3. Place paper into the printer as directed by the manufacturer. Consider using card stock rather than copy paper to ensure a sturdier gift certificate.

4. Click "File" from the menu bar at the top of the page and select "Print". Choose the printer you want to use and how many copies you will need and click "OK" to print.

5. Cut the excess paper around the gift certificate using sharp scissors and place it into an envelope for presenting.
