1
Lay a tablecloth on a rectangular table in a color that matches the theme of the party. The tablecloth looks best if it reaches the floor and covers the legs of the table. Push the table up against a wall.

2
Place a vase of flowers in the center of the table. Alternately, place a large cake, if you're having one, or a centerpiece matching the theme of your party. For example, if this is a baby shower, place a large stuffed animal on a tray.

3
Put different shapes and sizes of jars on the table, around the centerpiece. Place them at varying heights, so place some on top of cake stands or prettily wrapped boxes. Varying the heights creates interest.
-
4
Fill the candy jars with various types of candy, including large lollipops. Place hard candy, soft candy and wrapped candy. Place spoons into the jars with unwrapped candy.
-
5
Place cupcakes, brownies, cookies and small pastries onto plates and trays around the table. Place these dessert items around the outside edge of the table.
-
6
Put plates, napkins and forks at both sides of the table. If you're using paper, match them to the theme and color of the party.
-
7
Add small bags or containers on the table next to the candy so guests can take some candy home.
