How to Remove Ink Stains From Clothes

Got an ink stain on your favorite shirt? Ink stains are by far the most difficult stains to remove. Early treatment is the key to complete ink stain removal. Here are a few tips on how to get ink stains out of clothes.

Things You'll Need

• Rubbing alcohol
• Fingernail polish remover
• Toothbrush

Instructions

1. Stretch the garment out on an old towel or rag. If you are working with a shirt, put the towel on the inside of the shirt. The purpose of the towel is to absorb the washed out ink.

2. Apply a generous amount of rubbing alcohol to the ink stain and let it soak in for 5 minutes. During this time you should start to notice the ink bleeding out of the fabric.

3. Gently rub ONLY the ink stained area with the bristles of a toothbrush. Avoid spreading the stain to other areas of the fabric.

4. Wash the ink stained area out with cold water by hand. If the ink stain is still visible, repeat steps 2 and 3 with fingernail polish remover instead of rubbing alcohol.
