Step 1
Driving.
If you are planning on driving when you are traveling with a group of people be careful which car you choose. Look at everyone's car to see which one gets the best gas mileage on it. Once you have found the car that you plan on using when traveling get everyone to pitch in for gas. This can make a normally long and expensive trip seem very affordable. The more people you are able to get to travel with you the more money you can save. -
Step 2
Cheapest means of travel.
Take time to see how far you are going to have to travel for business or your vacation. Then find out how much gas for driving would cost, how much it would be to fly, the cost of taking a train or bus, etc. Be sure to weigh out all of your traveling options. This way you can get the best price when you are traveling. Also take into account the time of year you travel can also effect your prices. -
Step 3
Do not stay at the most expensive hotels.
Traveling can be expensive enough without staying in extremely elaborate hotels. So before you leave start looking online where you think you would like to stop on the road. Then start look at prices of hotels in the area. This way you will already have reservations and a great hotel. By just finding a place to stop at you are at the mercy of the hotel to get a good price on a room. So have something booked before you go.
