Get over it!

Of course you're going to be depressed from this. You're only human. If you weren't, then you are a cold hearted person. Call one of your boys and go chill with your crew. Funny right, this is the same group of guys that told you not to waste your time with old girl. You kno they are going to give it to you, with the "I told you so," but through it you will get out of that slump. If your boys are good dudes, they'll surely find another girl for you to meet and make you forget about what's-her-face.
The ex might even realize that she made a big mistake. She sees you and talks about reconciling. She just put you through it and she wants you to just take her back? Just tell her, "sorry, let's just be friends" and keep it moving. Don't be rude about it, as much as you want to act like a complete jerk to her, you now have the upper hand here so take the high road. -
Step 2
Get back in the game:

You loved this girl and you'll be patient, because for some reason you hope she will come back. So you become a hobbit right, staying home watching 'chick flicks,' like Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Bro she's not going to want to take you back if she's sees you and you look a hot mess. Just give it time and get back to you're normal life. Call her up every now and then just to see how she's doing. Then see if she's willing to reconcile. Hopefully she say's yes, if not refer to step one or three depending on if you want to be mature or not. -
Step 3
Get even (THIS IS AN OPTIONAL STEP, NOT REQUIRED OR SUGGESTED):

You may feel like this girl doesn't fully understand what she just did by kicking you to the curb. Maybe you want to make her suffer the same way that you are. You could just yell at her and just drop every piece of dirt you have on her and throw it in her face. You know what sets her off, so get her angry and depressed. Flirt with her friends, possibly hook up with one of them. You know, the one that always gives you the flirty smile, yeah the friend that she doesn't really like. Be as reckless as you want. Go on a friendly date with her friend and take a picture and put it up on Facebook or Myspace or whatever social network you use. She'll get pissed and call you immature but being mature stopped when you got dumped.
Now taking these steps may lead to restraining orders, arrests, or confrontations with ex's dads, brothers, uncles, or all of them. So realize what you're getting into before you act in such a way, but it might be worth it to ruin her life if even for a moment.

on 10/29/2009 I agree with your tip...caution should be used...you never know how she will handle the after effects...you might be just better off using your energies to make a new start elsewhere in lieu of rehashing past events.
