Make a Wooden Heart Wreath
Make a Wooden Heart Wreath

A wooden wreath is easy to make and it will last a long time. Not only can it be adapted for different seasons, but it will last in various weather conditions because it's made of wood.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 8 wooden hearts
  • Wreath frame
  • Fencing staples
  • Hammer
  • Pads
  • wire
  • Hanger
  1. Step 1

Put a towel on a surface that will withstand hammering. Arrange the hearts in a circle, face down. Place the wire frame on the circle of hearts, center it, and nail it into place. Fence staples will last, as they are much heavier than standard staples.

  2. Step 2

Put pads (I used sticky-backed felt pads) on the back to protect your door or wall.
Add a wire loop to hang it.
Finish the wreath with sealant, paint or wood finish.

  3. Step 3

If you leave the hearts plain, you can keep the wreath up all year long. For fall holidays, you might intertwine them with a garland of colored leaves. For Valentines day, put a cupid doll in the center. Crafts stores carry garlands and decorations for just about any holiday or occasion.

Tips & Warnings
  • A wooden wreath is heavy. You will want to put pads on the back to avoid scratching the door. Hang it from a strong hanger. I use a magnetic hanger on my metal front door.
