- Hot water
How to Use Nair to Clear a Clogged Drain
Pour bottle of Nair directly down the drain. Nair is a fast-acting hair remover, so if you have hair that is clogging the drain, it will be a good idea to use the whole bottle. Throw away the empty bottle immediately.
Allow the Nair to settle for about 30 minutes. The longer you allow the it to settle, the more effective it will be in unclogging the drain. If you have small children, keep them away from the Nair.
After you have allowed the Nair to settle down into the drain, turn on the hot water and let it run down the drain. The hot water should be running at full force to test for blockage. Keep small children away while you are running the steaming hot water to prevent serious burn injury.
Check for clogging and clean. If the water runs down the drain without any backup, chances are that the Nair worked great. Continue running the hot water for about five minutes to make sure the job is done. Turn off the water and clean the area with soap and water. Making sure the sink/tub is clean will prevent anything from sliding down the drain, causing the drain to back up again.
