How to Register a Domain Name Wiki

Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the governing body for managing the assignment of domain names and IP addresses, requires you to register your domain name (Website name) for it to be recognized as unique on the Internet. You can register your domain name with popular domain name registers like godaddy.com. The process of registering the domain name with ICANN may take anywhere from 24 to 76 hours.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Open your Internet browser, type the following link in the "Address" field http://www.godaddy.com/domains/search.aspx and then press "Enter."

  2. Step 2

    In the webpage that opens, under "Enter a domain name," type "wiki," and then press "Enter." If wiki is not available, then choose an alternate name.

  3. Step 3

    Enter the "Domain Registration Information."

  4. Step 4

    Make the payment.
