How to Decorate With String Lights & a Mirror
Decorating a mirror or window with string lights is an easy and aesthetically pleasing way to add flair to a room, whether for the holidays or as a more permanent decoration. Depending on the size, string lights can cost between $10 and $30 per package. They can be purchased from hobby and craft stores, holiday stores and hardware stores in many colors and sizes. Remove lights from the package and untangle them if necessary.

Lay the lights in a straight line on the floor and plug them in to see if there are any faulty bulbs in the string. Change any bulbs that need to be changed (string light packages often come with extra bulbs).

String the lights around the perimeter of the mirror, asking a helper to hold them in place if necessary.

Attach the string light chord to the wall surrounding the mirror, making sure that the staple prongs surround the chord to hold it in place, but do not actually puncture the chord.

Wrap excess string in a bundle with a rubber band or string, and tuck it away behind the mirror or another place that it is out of sight.
