How to Decorate With Tulle for a Graduation Party
Tulle is an inexpensive, netting-like fabric that comes in a variety of colors and can be used to spice up any room. Although most popular at weddings, you can decorate with tulle for any party, including a graduation party. Represent the graduate's class by choosing tulle in his school colors. Use tulle to tie a room together by draping tulle from the ceiling, or use tulle as the focal point of the room by shaping tulle into the graduation year.

Ceiling Swags

1
Measure the ceiling to determine the amount of tulle you will need. Start at one corner and measure to the corner that is diagonally across. Multiple this number by four to get the total amount of tulle needed.
-
2
Choose two to four tulle colors. Consider using the graduate's school colors or the graduate's favorite colors.

Start in the center of the ceiling and staple one end of tulle into place. Drape tulle halfway to one corner of the room and staple into place, creating a swag. Continue to the corner and staple tulle into place, creating a second swag. Cut tulle and return to center of the room. Repeat these steps for each corner of the room, alternating the colors of tulle.

Decide how much tulle you need to buy. Use string to form each number. Once you shape a number with string, cut the string and measure the length. Write down the measurement. Do this for all four numbers. Add the four lengths together to determine the total amount of tulle needed.

Shape the first length of tulle into the first number of the year. Staple into place on the wall. Use a measuring tape to space numbers evenly apart. Continue this process for the remaining three numbers.

Tips & Warnings
Measure twice, cut once. Add extra inches to each measurement of tulle to be on the safe side. It's better to have too much tulle than too little.
Add white wedding lights to tulle for an extra wow factor.
