Making a Bed Mosquito Canopy
-
1
Measure the length from the bedroom ceiling to the bottom of the bed, then measure the bed length from top to bottom.
-
2
Go to a fabric or crafts store and get mosquito netting material equal to your measurements. Add approximately one foot to the length and two to three feet to the width. Add more material to the width if you want the net to bunch around the bed. Double the ceiling length as you will need to cover both sides of the bed. (It will probably be somewhere in the neighborhood of 26" x 15" more or less, depending on the ceiling height and bed size).

3
Lay the netting material out on the floor or on a table and fold in half, length-wise. Find the center point at the top of the fold and put a small pencil mark on it.
-
4
Using a ladder, screw the ceiling hanging hook to the ceiling over the middle of the bed. Use gloves or a hand towel to get better traction when screwing the hook into the ceiling, making sure it goes all the way in.
-
5
Attach one of the curtain rings by the clip to the center mark you made on the netting material. Attach the remaining four clips on a circle, about an inch away, around the center clip.
-
6
Grab the mosquito netting by the curtain clips and bring up to the ceiling hanging hook. Hang the curtain rings from the hook. Arrange the mosquito netting so that it encloses around the bed to your liking.

Tips & Warnings
If the curtain rings are not available at the fabric store, you can find them at large home goods stores or even online as well. Get the rings in a material that matches your bedroom. They come in wood or different colored metals, such as brass.
Ceiling hanging hooks can also be found at home goods stores as well as hardware and supply stores.
You can place the ceiling plant hook closer to the top end of the bed to cover half the bed only.
Use different colors of mosquito netting to add to the room decor and style.
When in doubt, go for the longer measurements on the material. You can always cut the excess off if it's too long. If the wide measurements are too wide, they won't be noticeable, as they will just bunch around the bed.
