A Sears circular saw is a dangerous tool if it is improperly used. It is also dangerous to replace the blade if you don't follow proper procedures.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Heavy-duty gloves
  • Scrap wood
  • Standard wrench
  • Replacement blade
  1. Step 1

Turn the power switch off and unplug the power cord. Wear heavy-duty gloves for safety.

  2. Step 2

Set down the circular saw in its normal position. Carefully push the blade against a scrap piece of wood to keep it from rotating.

  3. Step 3

Remove the blade nut (center) with a standard wrench. Keep a firm grip on the saw while you are loosening the nut.

  4. Step 4

Grab the edge of the blade and pull it out. Insert the new blade and replace the nut. Tighten it properly to keep the blade from getting loose.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you purchase the correct size and type of blade. Don't use a blade too large or too small for your circular saw.
  • Don't change a saw blade without wearing protective gloves.
