Instructions

    • 1

Unscrew the decorative bolt which holds the lamp shade in place. This is found at the very top of the lamp.

    • 2

Unscrew the light bulb from the lamp and remove it. This will make it easier for the shade to be removed.

    • 3

Pull up on the shade to remove it from the lamp base.

    • 4

Place a new shade on the lamp base, letting it rest in the same spot as the shade you removed.

    • 5

Screw in a new light bulb to the lamp. Even if your bulb is not yet burnt out, it is a good time to replace the bulb.

    • 6

Screw on the top bolt tightly to secure the new shade.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some shades will not be placed around the lamp itself, but will instead sit on top of the lamp. Determine which shade your lamp has so you get the correct type when you purchase your new shade.

  • Check the heat rating of your new shade. If you have a 100 watt bulb in a lamp with a shade that can only handle the heat from a 70 watt bulb, you may be putting yourself at risk for a fire
