Purchase a bottle of Goo Gone from a local hardware or home improvement store. This chemical cleaner safely removes grease, adhesives, tar, gum and other sticky substances from virtually any surface, including tile.

Spray the Goo Gone generously onto the affected area on the tile. Use a microfiber towel to wipe away the residue immediately, or allow the solvent to settle longer in order to break down stubborn glue more thoroughly.

Follow up with a rag or sponge and warm water if film remains on the tile. Goo Gone will loosen the adhesive at the base for you to wipe off, but this additional measure may sometimes be necessary for a thorough cleaning.

Tips & Warnings
Try the home remedy of white vinegar to save money. Heat a small amount in a sauce pan until lukewarm, then pour it into a clean spray bottle. Spray the spot of glue and allow the vinegar to soak for at least a half hour before wiping it clean.
