Windows Live Messenger (formerly MSN Messenger) is an instant messenger client that allows you to chat with friends using text, voice and video. The program recognizes contacts from Yahoo! Instant Messenger as well as those using Windows Live Messenger, and features the ability to share photos and files as well as play games with your contacts. If you receive unwanted instant messages, it's easy to block the offending user by right-clicking the user's screen name and selecting "Block User." If you change your mind or realize that you've accidentally blocked a friend, you can remove the block by using the privacy options.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Launch Windows Live Messenger and log in with your Windows Live ID.

  2. Step 2

Click "Tools" in the menu bar at the top of the screen and select "Options."

  3. Step 3

Click "Privacy" in the list of options on the left side of the menu. You will be presented with an "Allow list" on the right and a "Block list" on the left.

  4. Step 4

Scroll through your "Block list" and select the screen name of the blocked contact that you want to remove.

  5. Step 5

Click the "Allow" button located between the "Block" and "Allow" lists. This will remove the contact from your "Block" list and move him to the "Allow list."

  6. Step 6

Click "OK" to save your changes and return to your contact list.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also unblock a contact directly from your Windows Live Messenger contact list. Just right-click on the name of the contact you want to unblock and select "Unblock Contact."
