How to Play Spiderman 3

"Spider-Man 3" is an action-adventure video game based on the film of the same name. The game lets players take control of Spider-Man as he battles enemies across a virtual rendering of New York City. In addition to street thugs and small-time criminals, Spider-Man must battle nefarious foes such as Venom, Sandman and the Scorpion. The game includes many of Spider-Man's trademark abilities, such as his acrobatic fighting moves and the ability to swing from webs.

Move the left analog stick to move Spider-Man, and move the right analog stick to move the camera in the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. In the Wii version, move the nunchuck stick to move Spider-Man, and hold the "C" button and tilt the nunchuck to move the camera.

Press the "A" button on the Xbox 360 controller to jump. For the PS3 version, press the "X" button. For the Wii version, press the "Z" button. Hold the button to jump higher into the air.

Press the "X," "Y" and "B" buttons on the Xbox 360 controller to execute fast, strong and web attacks, respectively. On the PS3 version, press the "Square," "Triangle" and "Circle" buttons. On the Wii version, move the Wii remote left or right to perform a fast attack, and press the "A" and "B" buttons to perform strong and web attacks, respectively. Perform combos by stringing attacks together for greater damage.

    • 4

Pull the right trigger to swing on a web on the Xbox 360 version. On the PS3 version, press the "R2" button. On the Wii version, hold the "B" button and swing the Wii Remote forward. Steer Spider-Man with the left analog stick on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, or with the nunchuck stick on the Wii version. Pull the left trigger or "L2" button during a swing to increase your speed on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, respectively. On the Wii version, press the "Z" button.

    • 5

Press the "LB" button on the Xbox 360 controller when a yellow or red danger icon appears over the head of an enemy to engage your Spider Reflexes. On the PS3 version, press the "L1" button. This will slow the action down and allow you to dodge enemy attacks and perform counterattacks. Your blue Spider-Reflex bar will decrease when you enter Spider-Reflex mode. When the bar is empty, you will return to normal mode. The Spider-Reflex mode is not available in the Wii version.

Press the "RB" button on the Xbox 360 controller when your red combo meter is full to begin a super attack. On the PS3 version, press the "R1" button. On the Wii version, press "Down" on the directional pad. Unlock super attacks by progressing through the game.

Press "Left" or "Right" on the directional pad to change into Spider-Man's black suit in the Wii version. The suit will give Spider-Man increased strength and speed, but he can only wear it for a limited amount of time. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions do not allow you to change into and out of the black suit.

    • 8

Attack enemies and fulfill onscreen mission objectives to progress through the game. Avoid taking damage or your red health bar will deplete. When it is entirely depleted, you will have to restart the mission.

    • 9

If you see a button icon flash onscreen during a cinema, quickly press the corresponding button. Failure to do so will usually result in Spider-Man taking damage.
