How to Fix Java Free of Charge

Reset your Web browser. Launch Internet Explorer and click the "Tools" button on the main menu. Scroll down and click "Internet Options" to open the options console.

Click the "Advanced" tab and click "Reset" under "Reset Internet Explorer settings." Click "Reset" again.

Click "Close" when Internet Explorer finishes resetting the settings. Relaunch Internet Explorer.

Make sure Javascript is enabled. Go back to the Internet Options console on the Internet Explorer browser and click the "Security" tab. Click "Custom Level" to open the security settings window. Scroll down and select "Enable" under "Scripting of Java applets." Click "OK" to save the changes. You have to enable Java in the "Tools" or "Preferences" section if you are using another Web browser other than Internet Explorer.

Uninstall and reinstall Java if that still does not work. To uninstall Java, click the Windows "Start" button and click the "Control Panel." Double-click "Add or Remove Programs" to open the programs window if you are a Windows XP user. Click "Program and Features" in the Control Panel and click "Uninstall a Program" to open the programs window if you are a Windows Vista user.

Scroll down the programs window and click the Java version that you have. Click "Remove/Uninstall" and confirm to remove it from your computer.

Download and install the latest Java (see Resources section). Uninstalling and reinstalling it resets the programs settings and fixes most problems.
