How to Clean the Rust off the Tips of Crome HD Exhaust Tips

Rust is a horrible thing, and getting rust on a chrome HD exhaust tip is certainly unsightly. Fixing rust on chrome, however, isn't that difficult to do with the right tools and a few tricks.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Steel wool
• Glass cleaner
• Chrome polish
• Microfiber towels

1. Apply windex to the exhaust tip and clean off using the microfiber towel. This is to get off the surface stuff and may take off some of the rust.

2. Apply the chrome polish to the microfiber towel and dab it onto the exhaust tip. You want to get the polish onto the surface but not start polishing yet.

3. Apply chrome polish to the steel wool and go over the surface in a circular motion. You want to slowly polish out the rust with the steel wool.

4. Wipe off the polish using the microfiber towel in a circular motion. Make sure all of the polish is off of the surface.

5. Repeat steps two through four if the rust is still remains.

6. Apply glass cleaner to the exhaust tip and wipe dry with the microfiber towel.
