With some salt, a few oranges, and a spoon, you will have a natural air freshener for your home in less than 10 minutes.

Things You'll Need

  • Latex gloves
  • Knife
  • 1 or more oranges
  • Spoon
  • Table salt
  • Plastic sandwich bag or small plastic bowl
Step 1

Cut an orange in half.

Spoon out the orange's pulp. Discard the pulp or place it to the side for orange juice later.

Fill the orange's shell with 2 tsp. of table salt. Spread the salt all around the inside of the shell with your finger.

Place the orange shell in a plastic sandwich bag or small plastic bowl. Don't seal the bag if you use one.

Place the plastic bag or bowl on a table, dresser, or other surface in your house so the salt within the orange shell can absorb foul odors and the orange shell can release a orange fragrance throughout your home.
