Instructions

    • 1

Open the driver's side door and sit in the seat. Find a spot where you can mount the monitor for the system where it's visible, but not a hazard in a normal driving situation.

    • 2

Clean off the mounting surface by pouring rubbing alcohol on a towel and rubbing that onto the surface with your hand. Then stick on the hook-and-loop sticker provided with the kit onto the surface.

    • 3

Place the monitor to the hook-and-look pad using your hands and run the power cable from the monitor to the cigarette lighter.

    • 4

Mount the camera bracket to the license plate using the Phillips head screwdriver. Leave room for the wiring that comes out of the back of the camera.

    • 5

Drill a hole just above the camera bracket using the drill and drill bits. Run the camera wiring through this hole.

    • 6

Locate the reverse light wiring in the taillight by removing the taillight with the Phillips head screwdriver and pulling out the reverse light bulb. There will be two wires going to the bulb.

    • 7

Put the key in the "on" position and put the vehicle in reverse with the emergency brake on. The vehicle should not move one way or another, but if you have to, place a block of wood behind the tire to stop it from moving.

    • 8

Probe the reverse light wires using the 12-volt test light. When the test light turns on, you've found the positive wire for the reverse light, and the other should be the negative wire.

    • 9

Run the wiring from the camera to the reverse light wiring. Connect the red wire from the camera to the positive wire on the reverse light using the pliers and a scotchlok connector. Place the connector over the reverse wire and place the red wire from the camera inside of the connector. Then clamp down with the pliers and wrap the plastic tab over the top. Repeat this process with the negative wire.

    • 10

Reinstall the taillight using the Phillips head screwdriver.

    • 11

Test the camera and monitor system by turning the vehicle off, then on and placing it in reverse. The monitor should turn on and you should be able to see behind you.
