How to Personalize Your Pumpkin Carving

Be the hit at your Halloween party with a unique and interesting pumpkin design!

Things You'll Need:

• Pumpkin
• knife
• pumpkin scoop
• paper
• printer
• computer
• tacks

1. 
    
   Picking the right pumpkin is important!

   Pick and buy your Pumpkin. Make sure at least one side is nice and smooth for optimal carving. Make sure your pumpkin has no soft spots.

2. Cut the stem off the top of your pumpkin. Do this to be like a lid for your pumpkin. Then, gut your pumpkin. You can either throw away or keep the seeds for roasting.
   
   Then scrap the inside of the pumpkin until all the pumpkin guts are gone.

3. Find your image or make one in Word. If you want your pumpkin to have a saying, just type it up in Word and make the font as big as possible to fit on one sheet of paper.
   
   Square sized fonts are easier.
   
   Print off your design!

   The Pumpkin was the Hit of the Party!

   Tack your design onto your pumpkin. Use another tack to trace out your design onto your pumpkin.
   
   Once your design is traced, carve your pumpkin!
   
   This is very easy and doesn't take a lot of time. I made a pumpkin that said 'Emily is 1!' for my daughter's first birthday, and it was a huge hit!
