LET THIN EYEBROWS GROW. If your eyebrows are thin from over plucking, let them grow for about three to four weeks until you can begin to see their natural shape. While you're waiting for them to grow, keep them tamed by using a clear mascara or brow set like MAC Brow Set in Clear.

TRY ROGAINE FOR WOMEN. If you've tried growing eyebrows without success, you might want to use a hair growth product. Rogaine for Women is for thinning hair on the top of the head, but for some people it also helps grow eyebrows. Using a cotton swab, dip it in the Rogaine solution and apply it to your eyebrows twice a day.
Do not get it in your eyes! Do not wash your face for 4 hours after you apply it. Do not use a hairdryer after you apply Rogaine because it decreases the activity of minoxidil, the ingredient in Rogaine that helps hair grow. Use Rogaine for a couple of months. Within that time you should see fuller eyebrows. If not, you should discontinue use.
If you see hairs growing, you can cut back to applying it several times a week, instead of twice a day. If your skin becomes irritated, itchy or develops a rash, stop using it. Do not use Rogaine for Women more than twice a day. If you are pregnant, nursing, or using any other drugs, you should not use Rogaine.

TINT FINE, THIN EYEBROWS. Sometimes it may seem like you have few or no eyebrows when in reality, they are just light and very fine. If you get your hair colored, ask your stylist to color your brows at the same time, or get a touch up pen for hair, and do your eyebrows with it. Once your eyebrows are colored, you will be able to get a better look at how many eyelashes you actually have.

TRIM FIRST, NOT PLUCK. Before you resort to plucking, brush hairs up and trim the tips of the ones that extend beyond the top edges of your brows. Trimming stimulates the hair follicles while plucking hinders hair growth. In order to create a natural look when trimming eyebrows, don't cut straight across the hairs. Cut them one by one. To make it easier, you might want to buy an eyebrow trimmer.

ONLY TWEEZE THE ONES YOU WANT TO LOSE FOREVER. You should always assume that any eyebrow lash that you pluck will never grow back. Only pluck stray lashes outside of your natural brow shape. To find where your eyebrows should begin, place a pencil (or a long thin paint brush) straight up and down along the edge of your nostril. Your eyebrow should begin where the pencil hits the brow bone.

USE EYEBROW POWDER, NOT AN EYEBROW PENCIL. Eyebrow pencils often leave a sharp thin line of color. Instead use an eyebrow powder. Its oil base lets it stay on longer and the powder gives a more even, fuller look to your brows. Choose a color that is one shade lighter than your hair color. To apply use short feathery strokes to fill in thin spots and define the natural shape of the brow. To blend the color and shape your brows, brush your brows up and out. Then step back from the mirror and check the result. Looking too close can change the perspective and not give you a look that complements your eyes.
