How to Know When Your Government Is Too Big

I'm an American that is starting to feel the weight of government bearing down on my rights, my way of life and my pockets. I like freedom to choose and it's not always easy to know when my choices are being limited. If you can recognize the following imbalances threatening your freedoms then you'll know your government is too big.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Financial. If your government has control of the banks and the credit institutions and revenues made by those companies are going to the government, and not to the business owners, then your government is too big!

  2. Step 2

Transportation. If your government has taken over the auto industry with buy outs and over-regulates the trucking industry causing consumer products to go up in cost then your government is too big! Again if they are more concerned with using your tax money to pay for the unproductive government jobs, created to regulate your freedoms, then your government is too big!

  3. Step 3

Health Care. If your government has overtaken the health care industry and has a program that is financially competing against the private sector companies then your government is too big. The government is already taxing you and so why should you have to pay them anything for health care? It's like you are paying them to provide you with health care with your taxes and then you pay them again to purchase that health care. Does that make sense to you?

  4. Step 4

In conclusion you can know when your government is too big when they start telling you where you can bank, what car you can drive and when you can and can't get health care. When public sector unproductive jobs created to regulate the private sector productive jobs begin to overburden the private sector due to increased restrictive regulation and overbearing tax rates then you can know for a fact that your government is too big. When you are paying taxes to build the banks you keep your money in and you are paying taxes to manufacture the cars you drive and pay the doctors who watch after your health then your government is too big. Why would anybody in their right mind pay twice for something?
