Things You'll Need:
- Money
- Patience
- Determination
-
Step 1
Make sure your event is actually sold out. Some of the following steps will require you to spend more than face value on your tickets so if you are going to do so, first call Ticketmaster or the box office and confirm that the event is truly sold out.
-
Step 2
Check the internet for ticketing websites. Chances are, the sold out event is sold out because hundreds of ticket brokers snatched the tickets off the market before the true consumers got a chance to purchase. For this reason these brokers routinely have tons of tickets to sold out events. Just expect to pay well above face value.
-
Step 3
Check the internet for individual sellers. This is risky because you often don't know who you're dealing with. If you opt for Ebay be sure to choose a seller with exceptionally high ratings and positive feedback. Use Craigslist at your own risk.
-
Step 4
Visit the venue early on the day of the event. It's a little known fact that despite how sold out an event may seem, the box office almost always releases tickets (at face value) on the day of an event. Many tickets were tickets that were intended to be given away to corporate partners or even refunds, but wherever they came from, they will go fast so make sure you're there when the box office opens if you want to take the chance.
-
Step 5
If you're desperate, there's always scalpers. I don't want to condone any illegal activity, I'd just like to state some facts: at events that require a ticket, you'll often find people outside of the event with the intention of selling tickets to those without tickets. That is all.
