Things You'll Need:
- LeapFrog Hand-held Leapster Gaming System
-
Step 1
Leapster AC Power AdapterAC power cords and car chargers are an inexpensive alternative to charge your child's leapster. They can be purchased for around $10-$15.
They save on buying batteries, however, your child becomes tethered to the wall plug making it sometimes difficult to move through out the house or travel. -
Step 2
Leapster Recharging SystemA recharging system for your LeapFrog Leapster is worth the initial expensive for the longevity of use your child will put into the gaming system.
Most chargers also adapt so that thier cords can be plugged directly into the Leapster hand-held for use as an AC charger, or plugged into the recharging system to charge the Leapster.
However, it is best to know that all chargers will not charge your leapster. You must find a leapster recharging system that is compatible with the model type of your LeapFrog Leapster.
For example, the first LeapFrog Leapster is triangluar shaped and will only work on a Triangluar shaped recharging system. If you have a rectangle shaped Leapster or Leapster L-Max, both these models can be used on the same recharging system. And if you have a new Leapster 2, you will need to purchase a specific recharging unit specifically for the Leapster 2.
All recharging units are sold separately from the LeapFrog Leapsters for about $25 - $99, depending on the Leapster. -
Step 3
Rechargable BatteriesLastly, if neither of those options seem appealing to you, then you may want to invest in, and purchase a set of rechargeable batteries and the unit to charge them in.
Most LeapFrog Leapsters use 4 AA batteries. So, you might want to buy eight batteries in order have a set charged and ready to go at all times. This alternative may be more cost effective or the same price as the Leapster recharging system, but that's for you to decide.
