Step 1
This is for a right-handed pitcher. For lefties, do the opposite of the instructions. For a curveball, grip the ball with your two main fingers (your first and second fingers) in the 'wide' seams of the baseball (the seams that form almost a light bulb-type figure). Place the right finger touching the seams on the right and the left finger almost touching the seams on the left. Arc your arm in a one-quarter semi-circle as your throw the pitch, spinning your wrist as fast as possible as your throw. Practice, practice, practice! But do not overdo it as you may risk injury.

Step 2
For a slider, grip the ball in the same area, but place your two fingers next to the seam on the right with the fingers together. Throw the ball just like a fastball, but spin your wrist as fast as possible the right as you throw it.

Step 3
Grip the ball with your entire entire hand and all your fingers. Throw the ball just like your throw a fastball. The grip will cause the ball to travel slower.
