Things You'll Need:
- Perfume of your choice
-
Step 1
Make sure that the spray-pump on your perfume bottle is in proper working condition. You'll want the perfume to spray evenly, so if the pump is clogged, this will interfere with the distribution. If it is clogged, try removing it and running it under some warm water, then return it to the bottle and try again.
-
Step 2
Since heat reacts with the scents of perfumes, you'll want to select parts of your body that have a predominant amount of blood pumping through them, namely, your "pulse points". Two hot spots are your wrists. Make sure that you don't have any jewelry covering up these areas, like watches or bracelets. Hold the perfume bottle approximately 4" away from the exposed underside of your wrist. Once you spray it on one wrist, immediately rub your wrists together. 1 spray, 2 wrists, very easy.
-
Step 3
Another excellent place to apply perfume is on the neck. This area is a pulse point and it is also an area that most people will smell. Most people you come into contact with will most likely be somewhere around your height, so their noses will be able to pick up on the scent from your neck. If you have long hair, make sure it is moved aside and pulled up. If you are wearing a collared shirt or a turtleneck, move it so that your neck is exposed. Hold the bottle approximately 6" away and spray. Be careful not to aim too high or you'll end up with perfume on your face.
-
Step 4
If you still want to apply more perfume to really achieve an overall pleasant smell, you can spray the perfume in front of you and walk through the mist. This isn't necessary, but it does add an extra oomph to your clothes.
-
Step 5
Now that you have properly scented yourself, you're ready to go. My last tip is to spray well in advance of meeting someone. Perfume can be very strong when it first comes out of the bottle. It needs some time to mix with your pheromones and adapt to your body. You want to smell good, not like you just stepped out of a perfume shop. You only need about 10 minutes or less in order for your perfume to settle in, so keep that in mind when you're going on a date or meeting up with a friend.

on 10/29/2009 Not that my 13 year old son wears perfume but every morning he sprays this cologn which waffs through the entire house and just wakes me up with this extra-potent scent. (yeach) I ask him why he sprays so much and he's tells me to look at the bottom of the can which reads:
"Attracks Women!" Good article.
